Welcome New Hires!
It is my pleasure to welcome you to our team; we are excited to have you on board! Your first "test" as a new team member is simple: Can you follow directions? There is a lot to do before you are ready to start working. So, please follow these instructions very carefully.
Listed at the bottom of this page are several hiring forms that you will need to complete prior to our next meeting. Some forms are optional, such as Direct Deposit; other forms only apply to certain age groups, such as the Work Permit application. All forms should be brought directly to your ORIENTATION CLASS (we hold 2 orientation classes each month).
Here are the steps you need to take to begin working at Chick-fil-A Chicopee:
1. Complete All Hiring Paperwork
The following (a-d) must be completed.
a. I-9 and acceptable documentation
Your I-9 form requires us to photocopy your identification. Therefore, you will need to bring "acceptable documentation(s)" that you choose for completion of your I-9 form. To find out what is considered acceptable, please click here. We will need the original document(s) to make a copy for your employee file. You will receive the original document(s) back immediately. Note: Social Security Cards must be signed (if this is a form of documentation that you choose to provide).
b. W-4 and M-4
These are tax forms for Chick-fil-A Chicopee (i.e., Growing Servant Leaders, 24/6, LLC d/b/a Chick-fil-A Chicopee FSR) to know the correct federal and state income tax to withhold from your pay.
c. Work Permit
If you are under 18, you will need a Work Permit (see application below). This application needs to be signed-off by your school administrator. That administrator will then provide you with your official Work Permit. Please return your official Work Permit to the restaurant so that it can be added to your employee file.
d. Team Member Policy Handbook
Please print and read the entire Handbook [Click Here] very carefully. The Handbook is password protected so you will need to request the password by texting or emailing me before moving on. Please identify yourself in your correspondence.
Once you have the password, download/print the handbook by clicking the link above, select "Get Started", and then click "Done" in the upper right hand corner. When the next page loads, click the "Download" button.
You will need to print the handbook and sign all signature pages in the appendices. Return the Handbook signature pages along with all hiring paperwork to the restaurant.
BAD FORM: For some reason, some team members fail to read the handbook and just blindly sign the signature pages. This will show in your work performance. TRUST ME.
2. Orientation Class
Know the date/time of your Orientation Class. This was communicated the moment you were hired. You must come to the orientation class on time and with all of your hiring paperwork fully completed. If you fail to show up on time or if you do not have all of your hiring paperwork, then you will have to wait until the next orientation class.
Buy work shoes that are (a) black and (b) labeled slip-resistant. If you show up to work without the proper shoes, you will be sent home.
I will purchase your first uniform. Part of your hiring paperwork is a form titled: 'Tell Us About Yourself.' Use this form to indicate your uniform size. Please Note: Pants run in men’s sizes (e.g., 30/30, 34/32, etc.) and women’s sizes (e.g., 0/29, 6/33…16/31, etc.). Make sure you note whether you want “slim fit” or “regular cut” pants. Don’t forget that we need the length.
Once you receive your first schedule via email, come into the restaurant to try on your uniform. If there are any problems with your uniform once you try it on, please let us know. We can return it and get you the correct size. Do not wear your uniform to work if you are not happy with the way it fits. If we cannot return your uniform, you will be charged for it.
4. Online Training
Before you can begin working at Chick-fil-A you must complete a Pathway Onboarding Training Module.
You will receive an email with your login credentials for Chick-fil-A's official homepage - this will confirm that we have processed your HR paperwork.
Once on our homepage, navigate to Reports & Tools>>>Pathway. Once on the Pathway training page, you will be asked to verify your email address. Then, the first thing you should see when you log back in is the Onboarding Training Module.
